Blue Cross and Blue Shield promotes Baker
Amy Baker was named manager of financial systems for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
In her new role, Baker will focus primarily on leading her team with new developments and maintenance efforts toward claims payable and accumulator processing.
In October 2000, Baker joined Arkansas Blue Cross’ regular business information systems and technology (IS&T) team. In 2007, Baker transferred to health advantage information systems, where she was promoted to claims and financial supervisor.
With a departmental reorganization, Baker became the financial systems supervisor, acquiring financial-related processing responsibilities for all lines of business.
Baker earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She and her husband, Brad, live in Bryant with their two children, Ty and Emma.
Founded in 1948, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, is the largest health insurer in Arkansas. Arkansas Blue Cross and its affiliates have more than 2,700 employees.
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association is composed of 36 independent, locally-operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans that collectively provide healthcare coverage for 100 million — nearly one in three — Americans.
