Insurers, heath systems, employers and third-party providers are all looking for ways to use digital technology to lower health care costs. A Minnesota healthcare IT developer could be part of that solution.
Minneapolis-based Benovate has signed an agreement with Allied National Inc., a Kansas-based third-party administrator that manages small-group self-funded employee benefit plans, to power Allied’s Member Connection platform. The partnership will allow Allied to offer personalized, HIPAA-compliant health incentive and risk management services to its 15,000 members and their dependents nationwide.
Using Benovate’s Connect technology, Member Connection will become a one-stop digital portal for video medicine, wellness program engagement, health management, risk information and health incentives for Allied’s members. The platform will be able to tailor information, resources and health incentives for each individual user.
Founded in 2010, Benovate developed its Connect healthcare technology platform in collaboration with Staples-based National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), a municipal contracting agency for government and education agencies nationwide. Benovate Connect is designed to interconnect with most wellness, electronic medical records, claims management and analytics platforms. Benovate is currently serving NJPA members in Minnesota. The deal with Allied National will help launch Benovate’s technology across a broader geographical market.
“The future of health care engagement is using technology to foster access to appropriate levels of care in an ‘on demand’ fashion,” says Bill Ashley, CEO of Allied National Insurance. “Much like we now have video on demand, we’re going to have health care on demand through smart mobile applications. This will move the first stage of care out of the doctor’s office, urgent care clinic or emergency room to the convenience of immediate access to a provider with the appropriate skill level.”
