UnitedHealthcare is expanding its footprint in the Quad-Cities with 236 jobs at a new operations center in north Davenport, the health insurer announced.
Company executives will join the new employees and community representatives Friday to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated 30,000-square-foot facility. A ribbon-cutting event will be held at 10 a.m. at the center, 255 E. 90th St., in the River Cities Business Park, near the Davenport Municipal Airport.
According to a news release, the newly hired employees will serve the company’s Medicaid members in the state. UnitedHealthcare is one of the health plans selected to participate in the IA Health Link program.
In addition to the new Davenport center, UnitedHealthcare will expand its West Des Moines headquarters. The expansions will bring its total Iowa employment to more than 1,000 people, the release said.
The Davenport and West Des Moines offices will support the nearly 200,000 Iowas who UnitedHealthcare expects to serve with essential health care benefits.
The managed care organization also serves more than half a million people in Iowa enrolled in employer, state health exchange, TRICARE, Medicare and now Medicaid plans.
