Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey on Monday announced changes in the company’s sales leadership that will advance its focus on consumers, employers and brokers to ensure access to quality, innovative and affordable health coverage.
Joseph J. Albano moves from vice president, consumer and dental markets, to vice president, commercial and major accounts.
Michael J. Considine, who served as sales director, midsize, public and small group accounts, is being promoted to vice president, consumer and small group markets.
“As health care continues to evolve, we are reshaping our sales organization with a commitment to offering innovative solutions to better serve our consumer members and groups of all sizes,” said Christopher M. Lepre, Horizon’s senior vice president, market business units.
Albano joined the company more than 20 years ago, holding several key director-level positions in the company’s health care management and service divisions. In his most recent post as vice president of consumer and dental markets, Albano led the development and execution of the company’s new dental organization and the consumer market sales and marketing strategy.
Considine has more than 30 years experience in different parts of the company. He worked in Horizon’s membership and claims department before transitioning into progressively responsible sales positions, including director of dental sales and director of commercial sales. In his most recent role, Considine led several company sales strategies including the development, marketing and sales of Horizon Select, the company’s proprietary private exchange.
“With this reorganization Joe, Michael and their teams will showcase the products and services that have made Horizon a leader and innovator in all markets, such as our private exchange — Horizon Select — transparency tools, telemedicine and ancillary services,” Lepre said. “This reorganization will better enable us to communicate and market to our customers and brokers how Horizon’s products and services enhance their health care experience.”
