BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has selected Dr. Ian Hamilton as a corporate medical director for all its lines of business.
In this role, Hamilton will consult and collaborate with providers across the state and drive processes that support best medical value and improve the health of BlueCross members. Hamilton came to BlueCross from a position as medical director for the government business division of Anthem (WellPoint) in Indianapolis.
A vascular surgeon by training, Hamilton earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed a surgical residency and surgical internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Hamilton also completed a residency/fellowship with Rush University Medical College in Chicago and a fellowship in vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Auburn University.
Hamilton served in the U.S. Naval Reserve’s Medical Corps from 1989 to 2002, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander. Board certified in both general and vascular surgery, he is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery.
Hamilton is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Physician Executives. He also is recognized as a Certified Physician Executive by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.
Pioneer Title picks Jolley as CEO
The board of directors of Pioneer Title Agency Inc. has appointed Sandra Jolley as president and chief executive. She is the third president of Pioneer Title since its founding. Jolley has been with the firm for 35 years and has held controlling interest for many years.
The nine employees of Pioneer Title have combined experience of 122 years in the title business, including 22 years by staff attorney Tammie Belcher, who is the chief title examiner “and has been the heart and soul of PTA’s title searches for many years,” Jolley said. The company’s escrow officers, Debbie Raborn and Robin Rose, “are the finest I have worked with in 35 years,” Jolley said.

Morris joins US Floors as sales vp
Rick Morris joined USFloors as vice president of sales for the commercial sales division, USFContract. He brings 28 years of experience in the commercial flooring industry and will be responsible for the growth of the company’s wood, cork, bamboo and its engineered vinyl plank and tile collection within this channel.
Prior to joining USFloors, Rick was manager of strategic accounts with Mannington Commercial and served as Northeast regional vice president with Interface.
“Rick brings a wealth of knowledge in building successful, long term relationships with end users, architects, designers and dealers,” said CEO Piet Dossche. “We are strengthening our organization at all levels by hiring professionals like Rick to cater to the strong growth we are witnessing.”
Johnson wins Wickham award
Kim Johnson, corporate client resource specialist for J. Smith Lanier & Co., has been awarded the Edith Lanier Wickham “Living the Vision” award. Edith Lanier Wickham was a leader of J. Smith Lanier & Co. from 1927 to 1973.
In 2001, Johnson began her insurance career with Powell-Walton-Milward Insurance (currently J. Smith Lanier & Co.) as a claims analyst.
In 2006, she became a benefit advisor and earned her Life and Health License. Promoted to a technical training specialist in 2008, she assisted with the education of Zywave Client Portal.
In 2011, she joined the corporate team as a client resource specialist where she oversees all of the Zywave online resources, as well as the execution and education of JOIN (J. Smith Lanier & Co.
