Competition Regulator Approves HealthPoint Sale
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has greenlit the acquisition of Dedalus’s healthcare payment application HealthPoint by Westpac. The commission found no significant concerns regarding the sale’s impact on competition, stating that it is unlikely to result in a substantial lessening of competition.
Westpac’s acquisition of HealthPoint positions the bank to compete with HICAPS, the country’s largest provider of private health insurance claiming and settlement services, as it seeks to offer an integrated healthcare e-claiming and payment solution.
