Maven Clinic, Amazon partner to offer women’s healthcare to Amazon employees

August 15, 2023

Maven Clinic, a virtual healthcare provider focused on women and families, has teamed up with Amazon to extend fertility and family-building support to Amazon’s employees. Maven, headquartered in New York, delivers services covering reproductive health, pregnancy care, parenting support, and more. Through this partnership, Amazon workers globally will gain access to Maven’s platform, offering services like fertility specialists, mental health providers, and more. The collaboration aims to simplify and streamline the family-building process, with offerings available in over 50 countries beyond the U.S. and Canada, enhancing employees’ overall well-being.

Maven Clinic, which offers virtual care geared toward women and families, announced it is partnering with Amazon to provide the retail giant’s employees access to its fertility and family-building support services.

The New York-based digital reproductive health and family platform offers fertility and family planning services, pregnancy and postpartum care, and parenting and pediatric support. The company added a program for menopause-related care last year.

Through the partnership, Amazon and Maven will offer employees of the multinational company free access to fertility doctors, gynecologists, adoption coaches, mental health providers, obstetricians, nutritionists and other providers through Maven’s platform.

Employees will also have access to free local support through a Care Advocate to help them navigate their region’s women’s health space and virtual care services via video or message chat with providers across 35 languages.

Maven will be added to Amazon’s family-building and support program and available to part-time, hourly and full-time employees and their partners. The platform will be open to employees in 50 countries outside the U.S. and Canada, including in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Maven is an employee-friendly benefit that takes the guesswork out of the family-building process, which can often be confusing and overwhelming,” Lian Neeman, global director of benefits at Amazon, said in a statement. “Our benefits are designed to care for all our employees’ needs, and that means ensuring they have the resources they need to live their best lives, regardless of their personal circumstances. Maven’s approach to fertility and family building supports our employees around the world and is tailored to each person.”

THE LARGER TREND

Last year, Maven Clinic announced it scored $90 million in Series E funding, bringing its total raise to $300 million. The funds came just one year after the company secured $110 million in Series D funding, propelling it to unicorn status with a valuation of over $1 billion.

Maven scored $45 million in Series C funding in 2020.

In March, the family-focused company acquired London-based Naytal for an undisclosed amount to expand its presence in the U.K. and Europe.

Naytal offered online consultations for fertility-related questions, pregnancy and postpartum support, and menopause care. Following the acquisition, the company’s founder and CEO, Leila Thabet, joined Maven as regional vice president of global growth and partnerships.

In 2020, Maven purchased Bright Parenting, which offers a parent-child relationship app that, through the acquisition, would be embedded into Maven’s pediatrics and parenting program.

Other companies offering fertility and/or women’s health services include hybrid fertility and reproductive care company Kindbody, digital health platform for family care Ovia Health, telehealth startup Evernow and virtual menopause care company Upliv.
