Healthcare professional networking and data platform H1 announced it has purchased London-based Faculty Opinions, which helps users find relevant and valuable research.
The company, which was previously called Faculty of 1000 and F1000 Prime, helps researchers, academic institutions, and life science companies stay on top of the latest clinical studies in their field, find new areas of focus, and up-and-coming researchers, and learn how their studies are being recommended.
“Faculty Opinions has become a valued source of information for individuals and organizations seeking to identify and evaluate the significance of published articles in biology and medicine,” Vitek Tracz, founder and chairman of Faculty Opinions, said in a statement.
“We believe strongly that H1 will meaningfully accelerate Faculty Opinions’ mission by increasing community engagement and making Faculty Opinions’ content visible across the markets they serve. I am excited to see Faculty Opinions become a part of H1’s global team.”

H1 offers a platform for healthcare professionals to list their accomplishments and network with other providers, as well as tools for listing clinical trial sites and managing accurate data about providers for sales and directories.
The company said the deal will allow its users to access more information about trends in research and important thought leaders.

Acquiring Faculty Opinions is an important evolution that allows us to continue growing as a go-to source for healthcare professionals, while also providing unique access to the latest discourse within the scientific community,” Ariel Katz, co-founder, and CEO of H1 said in a statement.
THE LARGER TREND
In November, H1 announced it had scooped up $100 million in Series C funding, with the goal of investing in its network, developing its products, and hiring new team members.
Shortly after its financing round, the company announced it had hired Ziad Ismail, formerly of trucking logistics software company Convoy, as chief operating officer. H1 also appointed Mike Derezin, COO of Chainlink Labs and former LinkedIn executive, to its board of directors.
Another company that includes networking for healthcare providers is Doximity, which went public last year. Last week, it announced plans to acquire Amion, an app that manages on-call physician scheduling.
