Square health, the British provider of private digital healthcare for insurance companies and corporates, has acquired Push Doctor, a digital GP provider from Manchester.
The acquisition figure has not been disclosed.
WHY IT MATTERS
Since it was founded in 2013, Push Doctor has been the British pioneer for medical video consultations. The platform provides remote care for more than five million patients via the NHS and private insurers.
NHS-registered GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, and pharmacists deploy the service in order to remotely connect with their patients.

After the companies announced their joint venture, Push Doctor’s platform will merge as a new brand and division into the Square Health service portfolio.
THE LARGER TREND
In January 2021 Push Doctor was chosen as a partner for GP practices in the west of London enabling 300,000 British patients to book appointments online via smartphone.
In September 2019, a significant reduction of waiting time was noticed after Push Doctor partnered with the NHS and provided free GP consultations to over 2.1 million people in the UK. In the same month, Push Doctor was selected as one of 20 innovators to take part in digital health. London accelerator program to speed up innovation within the NHS.
Funding of around $26.1M was raised by Push Doctor in July 2017 to further develop its app-based telemedicine service.
