Happify Health Releases New Chronic Condition Management Platform, Kopa for Psoriasis

Share:

July 2, 2020

The first component of this new platform is Kopa for Psoriasis, a product created to provide resources and community for those living with the condition.

The company chose to first focus on psoriasis because of the comorbidities often associated with it, such as stress, depression, anxiety, self-consciousness and impaired social functioning.

WHAT’S THE IMPACT?

Psoriasis is a global problem, with at least 100 million individuals affected worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.

Because psoriasis is such a complex condition, WHO also says that simply prescribing medications is “insufficient to control the disease and a holistic, whole-person approach to care is needed.”

Kopa for Psoriasis offers three main components on the platform, which can be accessed on the mobile app or web page.

The first is a community feed where people can connect to share advice, give support and discuss personal experiences related to the condition.

The second aspect of the app connects patients with medical professionals so they can receive treatment recommendations and up-to-date information about psoriasis.

Finally, the app curates educational resources that can help people manage their flare-ups and offer assistance around how psoriasis affects work, relationships, and guidance to improve sleep, diet, exercise and mental health.

Kopa for Psoriasis plans to add new features for the community in the coming months.

THE LARGER TREND

The company is best known for its digital mental health programs that are intended to be affordable and accessible for employers to roll out for their workers.

In another move made last week, Happify Health unveiled a partnership with the American Heart Association for a digital mental health program for people with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Also in the chronic-care digital-management sphere is Lark, which released an AI-powered prevention tool earlier this year.

ON THE RECORD

“With the launch of Kopa, we’re reimagining how healthcare is delivered to people with chronic conditions,” Tomer Ben-Kiki, cofounder and CEO of Happify Health, said in a statement. “Our goal is to provide easily accessible tools, personalized content, community support and access to medical experts to help people live happier, more fulfilling lives.”
