Migraine Buddy Partners with VSee to Provide Users with Telehealth Access

June 9, 2020

Telehealth, including the use of remote consultation, can improve cost optimization of healthcare resources, and engage the population in early prevention and management of chronic conditions.

Singapore-based healthtech company Healint, the creator behind the migraine tracking app Migraine Buddy, has announced a strategic partnership with Vsee Lab Inc., a San Jose-based video telehealth company, to offer Migraine Buddy users direct access to their preferred healthcare professionals through their smart phones.

According to Healint, the Migraine Buddy app allows the 2 million-strong user community to record key information about their migraine attacks, including before and during the attack, and share this information with their treating physician. Vsee provides HIPAA-compliant video telehealth and telemedicine video conferencing solution that is used by more than 1,000 telemedicine companies.

Migraine Buddy was created in 2014 and in November 2019, the app reached 2 million registered users. Earlier in April, it launched a personalized coaching program called MBplus, the premium version of Migraine Buddy which costs $69.99 per year for subscribers, which gives them access to actionable programs, advanced reports on weather, triggers & symptoms as well as advanced AI supports.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the increased usage of connected devices is driving the adoption of new healthcare delivery models. Telehealth, including the use of remote consultation, can improve cost optimization of healthcare resources, and engage the population in early prevention and management of chronic conditions such as migraine and back pain.

Various players in the healthcare ecosystem including insurance companies (such as AXA) and telehealth startups (such as Doctor Anywhere) themselves have been partnering with local and regional providers to offer telehealth services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In 2018, Healint and Novartis employed Migraine Buddy to look at how migraines interact with anxiety and depression. The research found that chronic migraines may induce anxiety and depression instead of the other way around, contradicting previous thought, MobiHealthNews reported.
