A survey conducted by Global Healthcare Exchange identified two key supply chain priorities that will accelerate the shift to value-based care in 2020.
For the survey, GHX asked executives among its Best 50 provider organizations about their supply chain plans that will support their organization’s care affordability and quality initiatives.
The two priorities:
- The first priority is improving the collection and standardization of supply chain data. This will allow organizations to cut costs and improve outcomes.
- The second priority is integrating supply chain and clinical systems to reduce variation in costs and quality. Improving the connectivity between systems will help improve the shift to value-based care, according to the survey.
Overall the survey highlighted the role supply chain data and integrated systems will play to solve the cost-quality-outcome equation.
