Genneve, an online telehealth service serving women experiencing menopause, has raised $4 million in a funding round led by BlueRun Ventures. Maven Ventures, Startup Health and an unnamed angel investors also participated.
WHAT THEY DO
Founded by former Microsoft and Neutrogena executives, Genneve is a platform offering video appointments with practitioners specializing in menopause care. Users can browse the startup’s selection of OB/GYNs and nurse practitioners, book an appointment at pay-as-you-go rates and, if necessary, pick up any prescriptions ordered by the practitioner from their local pharmacy.

WHAT IT’S FOR
The company told GeekWire that it will be using its new funding to expand its service from 23 states to 50 by the end of the year. Additionally, in her blog post announcing the investment, CEO Jill Angelo implored users to contact Genneve with their top needs so that the startup can better focus its efforts over the coming months.
Menopause support is also the recent focus of consumer-focused telehealth provider Ro, which launched a service called Rory in March that treats for hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sleep deprivation and other symptoms. Additionally, Rory’s service mails its prescription and non-prescription products to the customer in discreet packaging.
