Cigna and Express Scripts have extended the termination date for their merger agreement by six months, with the original deadline just two weeks away.
In an SEC filing, Cigna notes the date has been extended to June 8, 2019, from an original Dec. 8, 2018.
But “Cigna and Express Scripts continue to anticipate that the transactions contemplated by the Merger Agreement will close in 2018, subject to the satisfaction of all closing conditions.”
Earlier, the NY Department of Financial Services planned a public hearing on the deal for Dec. 7 — the day before the original deadline.
