Biomatrica, a leader in sample collection, is pleased to announce that it has been acquired by Exact Sciences Corp. Biomatrica will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary and will continue to supply sample preservation technologies to other companies.
Biomatrica’s biomarker collection portfolio includes LBgard® (blood collection tube for capturing circulating free DNA and cells for cancer screening and non-invasive pre-natal testing, RNAgard® (blood collection tube for capturing both RNA and DNA for gene expression analysis in a single tube, with true ambient transportation), and SalivaGard™ (a device for capturing DNA in saliva designed for high throughput processing with reduced contamination risk).
Biomatrica will continue to deploy its capabilities in Exact Sciences’ early cancer screening pipeline as well as with its expanding client base in diagnostics and consumer genomics.
Biomatrica will remain based in San Diego and terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
