Progress Software announced the acquisition of Chef, the infrastructure-as-code leader for $220 million in cash. Chef CEO Barry Christ stated that both the companies share a vision for the future DevSecOps and Progress will help scale up Chef’s platform to deliver more value to their clients.

July 13: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) buys Silver Peak for $925 million
In July, HPE announced that it would buy Silver Peak for $925 million, thereby reaffirming its commitment to the SD-WAN market. Silver Peak is a specialist in WAN technology. It will join HPE’s networking brand Aruba.
