Google’s Virtual Smart Home developer event is scheduled for July 8th after the Google i/O Developer Conference was canceled because of the pandemic outbreak. Google announced that the virtual event would cover many upcoming features and the latest tools for the smart home tech developers and users. The event would be conducted online.
Works with Hey Google Smart Home Summit for Developers
The event is called Works with ‘Hey Google’ Smart Home Summit and would be an exciting collaboration of ideas and views on the smart home industry. The sessions line up along with 45 minutes of the keynote speech and an expert panel discussion from Google and other major firms in the Smart Home industry.
Smart Home Team Has Been Working on Nest Improvement
Google Smart Home team has been working continually in the Nest rebranding after it was taken over by Google. The mini Nest Smart Speaker and WIFI mesh Router were released last year by the team along with the smart screen along with Nest Hub Max. The team has been busy revamping the Nest offerings like Nest Aware subscription for the home security cameras. Google also made some improvements in the Google Assistant.

Keynote Speeches and Sessions
Michael Turner, the director of the Smart Home Ecosystem at Google Product Management department, would be presenting the keynote speech detailing the company’s new smart home API features and the various implementation of the same. He would also discuss the benefits of the latest tools and features for the smart home tech users and developers.
The keynote primarily addresses the developers; however, Google’s keynote also debuts the latest quick home services and products. As per the tech giant, the summit would provide an avenue to showcase their new smart home products and projects.
No New Hardware Announcement
The panel discussion is likely to include the guests from companies like IKEA, TuYO, LG, and Vizio. Apart from the panel discussion and Keynote speech, other sessions are expected to cover the various tips for the smart home developers along with the Local Home SDK. No new hardware is likely to be announced in the summit; however, google may introduce its latest Android TV Dongle soon.
