IBM Launches Digital Health Pass App To Help Businesses Reopen After Lockdown

IBM Watson Health, a healthcare unit of the company, has launched a blockchain-based application called IBM Digital Health Pass, which helps enterprises to restart functioning after the extended Covid-19 lockdown.

Covid-19 pandemic had compelled the global businesses to shut down most of their physical operations and close the offices and stores as the governments imposed nationwide restrictions. Now, after months of being closed, the businesses have started to open, and the new application is helping people for the seamless transition keeping health checks and test-related parameters at the forefront.

IBM Blockchain To Verify Health Status

The new application powered by IBM Watson called the Digital Health pass would use the various data types, including the Covid-19 lab test results The app would enable people to receive digital health status, which they can provide to access the various public spaces without hassle.

User Data Privacy at The Core

IBM Watson Health Blockchain Vice president Eric Piscine said that the health pass provides complete data security to the users and ensures that there is no misuse of sensitive information.  So, the users can share their health pass with the authorities without fear of exposure to their data.

“We believe that trust and transparency remain paramount when developing a platform like a digital health passport, or any solution that handles sensitive personal information, and we remain committed to this philosophy as we continue to build solutions to help support organizations during the current public health crisis.”

Conclusion

IBM Digital health Pass would enable people to verify their health status by providing the test results, body temperature, etc. to establish that they do not have Covid-19 infection and thus fit to access public spaces.
