Facebook announced some exciting and useful features in its video chat device Portal to ease the lives of those who work from home. The social media giant has created a significant position for itself in the customers and is now pushing its limit by offering high-end features in its flagship device. Facebook Portal, including all its models and methods, will now support the Zoom Video Conferencing.
Zoom and Other Video Conferencing Apps on Facebook Portal
Zoom had become substantially the most used and popular video conferencing and meeting platform in the times of Pandemic when most of the users relied entirely on it for continuing work. Zoom has welcomed the announcement by Facebook.
Portal Now Supports Top Video Chat Apps
However, earlier, the tech giant announced several other third party video calling platforms on the Portal devices. Including BlueJeans, WebEx, and GoToMeeting to its suite of compatible platforms, Facebook is making Portal more resourceful.

Download and Use with Ease
One can easily install Zoom on Portal Device by going to the App Section and downloading it. Portal will now be compatible with all the four video chatting apps listed above on all its models, including Portal Mini, Portal, and Portal + from September. It is going to be supported in Portal TV over time.
Special Features for Work From Home
Facebook has announced several features that make Portal a highly work-oriented device. Soon users would be able to login to Portal using their Workplace ID in place of the WhatsApp number or Facebook account, making Portal exclusively a work device. The features would be available using Facebook login; however, you can create a workplace login in the Portal device in a few weeks.
First Smart Device to Focus on Video Chat
The Portal brings video calling and conferencing features at the focus, making it an excellent device for work at home. Its AI-enabled camera helps in making great video calls while one moves in and around the room. The camera has face tracking that pans and zooms the face if one moves away from the device.
Security a Concern To Users
Considering Facebook’s controversial security hitches and user’s private data theft in the past, a lot of people are highly skeptical of the automatic face-tracking camera and microphone. Portal sales have been bleak in the past year; however, as the Pandemic struck over and more and more needed to do video conferencing, the demand for Portal also increased.
