Various European countries are now looking forward to rolling out distinct apps that can trace the coronavirus patients’ contacts; reportedly, the United Kingdom is falling short in launching its platform yet. Germany is all set to launch its contact tracking app that works on the Bluetooth technology, as disclosed by the Health Minister Jens Spanhs, who said that the app is coming this week.
Germany and other Euro Nations launch contact tracing apps to fight covid-19
The app alerts the users when they come in contact with someone suffering from covid-19. The Germans are considerably better than any other European nation when it comes to fighting the covid-19 pandemic as per the data shared by the John Hopkins University. With 8804 deaths and 187,682 cases, the German government has managed the crisis well.
German Contact Tracing App Build on Google Apple Model
The app developed in collaboration with the Deutsche Telecom and SAP uses the privacy-based API developed by Apple and Google. The API helps the app developers to use the same for sending the notifications when the user having Covid comes near other persons. The API is compatible with the Google and Apple operating systems, which are present in almost all the smartphones in the world.
Italy also launched its contact tracing app.

Earlier, Italy launched its contact tracing app, which is also based on the Apple-Google model and named Immunity, developed by Italian company Bending Spoons. 1 million users have installed the app as of now from the Google App store. Italy had been the hotspot of covid-19, with more than 34 thousand deaths and 236000 infections. However, now the occurrence of new cases of Covid and related deaths has been reduced.
A most effective way to contain the covid-19 spread
As per the experts, the contract tracing apps will be highly significant in containing the spread of the virus when the countries re-open eventually. These apps will notify people on time, and the governments may ask the suspected infected persons to self isolate in case they have come close to a Covid patient.

Apple-Google model is under consideration; however, European governments are divided on the adoption of the same due to its decentralized approach in which the notifications are not stored on any central servers.
