Young Generation needs Rehiring
He gave an exclusive interview to Bloomberg TV, in which he noted,
“For young people and those now experiencing a need to rehire, I think the government in the second phase should give companies incentives to rehire aggressively. That will be extremely important to make sure the second phase is successful.”
No Layoff Pledge cannot continue for very long
Salesforce CEO initiated the No Layoff pledge in March, in which he suggested that the organizations do not lay off employees in the economic crisis. Salesforce also pledged to not have any massive layoffs in 90 days span. He said that the economy might worsen in the next few months, the company cannot commit to “No Layoffs” further.
Social Media companies should be regulated
He said that the government should also take control of the social media platforms to make sure that there is no spread of misinformation on the coronavirus. Salesforce CEO has often called out for regulation of social media companies; He had earlier called Facebook as addictive as Cigarettes a few months ago.
COVID-19 pandemic crisis complexes to handle
Marc Benioff said that he has prudently cruised the company out of two recessions; however, the coronavirus crisis is complicated. He added,
“This is my first pandemic. I don’t really know what I’m doing. I am trying to figure this out as I go.”
