The Covid-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented demand for Online Meetings, due to which all the players in the arena are rolling out their advanced features for the video conferencing offering free of cost.
Zoom Videoconferencing seems to be the front runner in the race; however, more sophisticated giants like Microsoft Teams, Slack, WhatsApp, and Google are also offering their services in the same lineage.
Slack not worried about competition from Teams
Microsoft and Slack are the biggest competitors as they are the largest corporate solution provider for the video chatting and internal communications platforms.
In the view of the same, Slack CEO, Stewart Butterfield said that Microsoft Teams is not a competitor to Slack. He said that the corporation size does not imply the customers prefer its product. He even mentioned that the Microsoft Teams is bundled with Office 365.

CEO shared his views
He said in a talk with CNBC that – “What we have seen over the past couple of months is that Teams is not a competitor to Slack. They’ve got to be a little frustrated at this point”.
“They have 250 million-ish Office 365 users. They just announced this massive growth in Teams to a little under 30 percent. He added that “So after three years of bundling it, preinstalling it on people’s machines, insisting that administrators turn it on, forcing users from Skype for Business to switch to Teams — they still only have 29 percent, which means 71 percent of their users have said no thank you.”
Teams have shown mind-boggling growth in the last few months
The growth rate of Teams increased after the tech giant asked its customers to use the product. The company said that the numbers of Slack were faring well; however, Microsoft fudged the numbers. Microsoft had surpassed the slack users count by 8 Million. Recently in its investors call Microsoft said that the user count now stands at 75 million active users.
Slack boasts of best concurrent users’ numbers
Though Slack did not reveal its correct active users’ number, the company has a good record of concurrent users. The company said that the simultaneous connections on the platform reach around 10 million. The numbers of March are higher than the 2019 November count, which shows that the company is on a track of fast growth.
