Google Head of Quantum Computing has reportedly resigned from his role in the Tech Giant’s most optimistic projects this month. John Martinis is one of the key names in the Quantum Computing Program of the company, which was announced by Sundar Pichai with much reverence a few months ago.
Martinis Exits from his role at the Google Quantum Computing Department
Martinis is a qualified Physicist working at the University of California and Google. He led Google’s Quantum Research initiatives and devoted many years of his experience in researching the hardware, which plays the base of the company’s quantum computing device. Martins will continue his role at the University of California to contribute to the university’s quantum computing efforts.

Martinis Resigned earlier this month
News is that he had resigned from the company at the beginning of this month itself due to some disagreements within the team. As per the report, there was a tiff between John Martins and Hartmut Neven. Hartmut spearheads Googles Artificial Intelligence Lab as the manager.

The reports are seemingly testified by an article written by Tom Simonize which says,
“A Google spokesman did not dispute this account and said that the company is grateful for Martinis’ contributions and that Neven continues to head the company’s quantum project. Parent company Alphabet has a second, smaller, quantum computing group at its X Labs research unit.”
Key Contribute behind Google Quantum Supremacy
John Martinis spearheaded Google’s quantum research don development initiatives in creating quantum hardware. With his stronghold over quantum physics, he helped Google develop its quantum computer and attain its quantum supremacy, which grabbed much news a few months ago.

Martinis hold his position UC professor in the Santa Barbara-based university, which he was working at throughout his stay at Google, and he says that his endeavors will continue to do research and study for the development of Quantum computing
