With the advent of newer technologies and high-end solutions embedded with artificial intelligence, UX, and Cloud technologies, the demands for intricate and complicated programming has also increased. Java, JavaScript, Python are some of the most advanced and widely used programming languages in the present times.
Most of the organization prefer these languages to develop crisp, cohesive, and extensible code which can be a foundation of robust software. However, the developers have some uncanny dislike for several languages since developers do not feel amused coding in these languages. Here are they,
JavaScript is not a Developer’s Muse
JavaScript and Java are the two most disliked programming languages by the programmers, be it seasoned developers or newbies.

As per a report by the Tech Republic, the two most popular languages and widely used coding standards, JavaScript and Java, are unpopular amongst the developers.
JavaScript is not considered a full-fledged programming language in the industry. It is more likely used as an extension development tool and script, which can be embedded within codes of other languages. Most of the browsers implement JavaScript; however, developers do not prefer it, because it does not provide any error checks, compilation, and standard libraries from leading companies like Microsoft.
CEO of nVisium Jack Mannion says,
“This may be an unpopular opinion due to JavaScript’s immense popularity, but it’s often quite a mess to work within reality”. He added “By design, JavaScript encourages anti-patterns such as the use of global variables and JavaScript’s type coercion approach often baffles developers when the results are unexpected.”
Java is not loved too
Java is also not a muse to developers as its code is unsustainable and not easily maintainable. The CTO and co-founder of Intelligent IT Automation Software company, SaltStack, also echoes the same thought. Thomas Hatch says that the code is unsustainable; it becomes quickly convoluted and hard to maintain. The irony is that it was designed to make it easy to maintain with large teams.”
PHP is Disliked
Developers also dislike PHP since it has a clumsy structure and can make a coder unorganized due to its insecure programming style. Developers have also expressed that PHP has security loopholes, which can make code vulnerable to security glitches.
New Age Developer Loves Python
Python is one of the most liked languages by developers, especially in the present times when AI and Deep Learning programming is at an all-time high.
Developers love Python because it is usable, transferrable to other developers, and easy to develop with.
