Half Victory for Amazon has put Microsoft on the back foot in the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure Project. It is one of the major projects of the Pentagon where the tech giants are involved in a tug of war to take the cloud-computing contract.
Recently, the Apex Judge of Washington issued an order to Microsoft and asked to stop the project as it has been opposed by Amazon putting it on hold until the issue is resolved.
Why JEDI matter for the Tech giants?
The Pentagon had released the largest cloud-computing contract for Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure with leading software firms showing keen interest. With the project cost of $10 billion and a work duration of 10 years, the mammoth contract can boost the bottom line of any company.

The JEDI project has been in controversy since the beginning.
Earlier, IBM and Oracle raised their voice against the contract process and said that the Pentagon is doing a favor to Amazon by giving the project. However, last year, Amazon lost the contract, accusing that President Trump has a personal grudge on Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon and the owner of Washington Post.
Trump was unsatisfied with the news published on the Washington Post and he also said that such news is building his negative image on media. Since Amazon lost the contract thereafter, the company is protesting and asking for the reason for the loss of contract.
What Amazon did after losing the Contract?
After losing the contract, Amazon was looking for the reason behind the same and once the news came out that Microsoft got the cloud-computing contract, Amazon moved to the Federal court. The Judge has given the order in favor of Amazon and asked Microsoft to stop the project.
What Next?
Well, this is the half victory of Amazon, as the dispute is in court and the matter is yet to be resolved. Till then, the JEDI project is halted.
