In another setback for MWC 2020, Amazon is the latest company to step back from Mobile World Congress 2020 joining LG, Ericsson, NVIDIA and other companies. The reason behind backing from the mobile trade show is the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus.
MWC is going to take place in Barcelona, Spain, and GSMA, the organization who is conducting this trade show states that all the essential measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus. In the latest report, GSMA said that travelers from the infected region of China are prohibited to enter the show.
MWC 2020 hit by Coronavirus
The event will start on 24th February and will run until 27th February. As per the last schedule, Amazon was allocated a day to present its latest Technology features and the company had planned the day to showcase cloud computing division AWS. However, Amazon came out with a report last Sunday, stating that “The outbreak of Coronavirus has spread its wings around the world and considering the impact of the virus, the Company is stepping back from the major mobile technology trade show”.
The outbreak of Coronavirus took place a month ago due to which several people have died in China and across the world. The current death count is 1016 alone in China and the number of affected people has reached 40,000. However, the Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE confirmed that they will attend the show by self-isolating its members to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The organizer announced that the attendees who have a past travel record of China will have to prove themselves that they had been away from the Chinese territory 14 days before the show and the proof document will act as a health certificate and passport stamp. Also, the attendees will have to certify that they were not in contact with the infected person.
