Reportedly on Wednesday, Apple bought new Artificial Intelligence software i.e. Apple’s new acquisition startup named Xnor.ai. In the past, the company has exceeded its boundaries of Artificial Intelligence by collaborating with companies like Alphabet, Facebook or even Microsoft. These companies have taken initial steps to increase their own products with artificial intelligence.
The company said that it buys small companies for the betterment of their own. It has not declared its main purpose of buying Xnor.ai yet. The authority goes on to say that they will maintain this tradition and in the future, they will buy more companies.
According to the multiple sources, there are 3 points to talk about Apple’s new acquisition Xnor.ai:
1] The signing amount of the deal was around $200 million. Xnor.ai is a Seattle-based company having 54 employees in total. It has investors like Madrona Venture Group.

2] Xnor came out from the lab of Paul Allen, the co-founder of a lab named Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. The intention was to run its software in the devices with fewer computing resources. They are already done with running it on data-centered fully powerful computers. Previously, it showed information about the application in the automotive and retail industries. Unlike Amazon, Xnor.ai emphasized the capability to run on a device.
3] It is the Artificial Intelligence which has been proved the main key for Apple in autonomous vehicle research. Now the company wants to develop more in Artificial Intelligence. John Giannandrea was appointed in July 2018 as the senior vice president of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning strategy. He is much qualified than the previous ones and above all, he has a great experience as he worked in Google. Drive.ai, Silk Labs, Turi, PullString are the previous collaborations of Apple’s Artificial Intelligence.
