Lawsuit Against Williams States Misuse of Experience
Apple filed a lawsuit against Williams in August due to breach of contract; the company claimed the breach of intellectual property agreement which restricted him against any engagement in business activities outside the company. The lawsuit contended that Williams’s work against Nuvia was a competition for Apple as the company recruited many Apple engineers.
Williams reply to Lawsuit,
“Apple, an early beneficiary of the creative forces that formed and continue to drive Silicon Valley, has filed this lawsuit in a desperate effort to shut down lawful employment by a former employee,” the lawsuit reports.
It also says that “To intimidate further any current Apple employee who might dare consider leaving Apple.” Apple’s complaint shows that ” it is monitoring and examining its employees’ phone records and text messages, in a stunning and disquieting invasion of privacy.”
The Employee – Company Tussle
As per Apple, William leveraged his experience to begin a new company that used the technology which he was working on in Apple. The mobile phone giant has created a livid case against the former employee saying that the company deserves punitive damages against Williams’s breach of duty of loyalty and contract.
In turn, William said that Apple browsed through his text messages. The company in recent months has propelled its privacy policy for text messages in an attempt to guarantee better user security. The company has pledged in an advertisement that What happens on iPhone stays on the iPhone.
