French government authorities have been investigating tax-related activities of Google Inc since the Year 2015. The investigators find that the corporation declared income profits for the entire European Union under one country, which is a low tax state.
Google has paid more than 1 Billion dollars to the french officials for the settlement of the tax evasion and fraud dispute.

The court had announced a penalty of 500 Million Euros for the conflicts on tax evasion in the past years. Google has further paid an additional 465 million Euros to the penalty to amount for taxes.
Many multinational companies declare profits from the business in the entire European Union under one country. Generally, this country is the low tax state, like Ireland, from where Google shows its earnings.
In an official statement, Google has said that it is also in favor of a reformation in the international tax systems as a means to create a more standardized framework for the organizations functioning globally.
The French Government upscaled its process of fairer tax regulations for the digital operations of the global organizations. French Government had put a whopping 3 Percent tax on companies like Amazon, Google, and Facebook, etc.
Gerald Darmanin, Budget Minister of France, told a newspaper that this settlement is going to create a legal precedent in such cases. There are also talks with several other digital tech companies though he did not reveal their names.

France, after conducting a meeting of Group of Seven Finance Ministers and officials, announced that various countries intend to create better guidelines and structure for a global agreement for taxation of business in digital space. The governments also aim to create an arbitration forum for settlement of such disputes.
However, there has been disagreement shown by the U.S. government on such taxes on the Tech companies, and it is assumed that it can lead to charges being levied on French imports as reciprocation.
