AWS recently announced that users can build Amazon RDS for Oracle database instances with up to 64 TiB of storage and provisioned I/O performance of up to 80,000 IOPS.
Present database instances can also be scaled up to 64 TiB storage without any downtime. The latest storage limit is an increase from 32 TiB and is supported for Provisioned IOPS and General Purpose SSD storage types. For instances using Provisioned IOPS SSD storage, Amazon RDS also supports increased performance of up to 80,000 IOPS.
This increase enables users to streamline database shards into a single database instance, which will simplify user’s database manageability.
Amazon RDS makes it simple to set up, function, and scale a relational database in the cloud.
