BENGALURU: The annual list of World’s Billionaires is recently released by Forbes. And like last several years the Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates tops the list, but the presence of many Indian technocrats makes it all the more interesting. Below is the list of 9 Indian Billionaires as reported by ET Bureau, Times of India.
1. Azim Premji
With the net worth of $15 bn, Azim Premji the Founder and Chairman of Wipro globally ranks at the 55th position. His family office Premji Invest has invested in companies like Snapdeal, Myntra, PolicyBazaar, and Cyanogen among others.

Shiv Nadar is the Founder and Chairman of HCL, which is the fourth-largest software services exporter. With a net worth of $11.1 bn and a 88th rank in the global position he is also a philanthropist with Shiv Nadar Foundation.
3. N.R Narayan Murthy
The co-founder of Infosys has a net worth of $1.9 bn and globally ranks at the 959th position. He was the CEO of Infosys from 1981 to 2002 and a Chairman from 2002 to 2011. Narayan Murthy’s private investment firm Catamaran Ventures has invested in Yebhi, Hector Beverages, Innoviti, Coverfox, and also has a joint venture with Amazon called Cloudtail which is the largest seller on Amazon India.
4. Kris Gopalakrishnan
Kris Gopalakrishnan is the co-founder of Infosys and its CEO from 2007 to 2011. He contributed 225 crore to setup the Centre for Brain Research at the IISc in Bengaluru. It was also backed by a stem cell-centred multidisciplinary programme on mental diseases and blood disorders. With the net worth of $1.6 bn, he ranks at the 1121st position on the global list.
5. Nandan Nilekani
Nandan Nilekani was the chairman of UIAI until March 2014 and is currently the Chairman of EkStep. This co-founder of Infosys has a net worth of $1.6 bn and ranks at the 1121st position. He has backed companies like Team Indus, Fortigo, Mubble, Juggernaut, LetsVenture, Power2SME, and Systemantics.
6. Binny Bansal
He is the co-founder of India’s largest e-commerce platform Flipkart and took over as its CEO this year. His net worth is $1.2 bn and ranks at the 1476th position globally; currently he is responsible for operationally driving the company and looks into all business areas.
7. Sachin Bansal
With net worth of $1.2 bn, Sachin Bansal ranks 1476th position globally. He is the co-founder of Flipkart and assumed the role of Executive Chairman in his company. Along with Binny Bansal, he has backed up many start-ups like Ather Energy, InShorts, Tracxn, and Tinystep to name a few.
8. K. Dinesh
K. Dinesh is one of the co-founder of Infosys and was a board member from 1981 to 2011. His net worth is $1.2 bn and ranks at the 1476th position. K. Dinesh has retired as the head of quality, Information Systems, and the Communication Design Group in 2011.
9. S.D Shibulal
S.D Shibulal is the co-founder of Infosys and was its CEO from 2011 to 2014. He has setup a start-up incubator Axilor Ventures with Kris Gopalakrishnan. He is positioned at the 1577th position with a net worth of $1.1 bn
