Software company SPS Commerce hiredBeth Jacob to serve in the newly created position of chief customer success officer.

At SPS (Nasdaq: SPSC), she’ll be responsible for managing the company’s “global customer strategy,” the maker of supply-chain management software for retailers said.
“Beth is a key addition to our management team, playing a critical role that focuses on ensuring our customers’ success in an era of unprecedented transformation and opportunity in retailing,” SPS CEO Archie Black said in a news release. “She is an accomplished leader with a passion for customers and the teams that serve them. We are thrilled to welcome Beth to SPS Commerce.”

Jacob joined Target in 1984, spending two years as an assistant buyer in the company’s Dayton’s department store division. She left the company in 1986, but returned in 2002 as director of guest contact centers. She became vice president of guest operations in 2006, then was named senior vice president and CIO in 2008. She was promoted to executive vice president and CIO in 2010.
Jacob won a Business Journal CIO of the Year award in 2012.
Minneapolis-based SPS Commerce is one of several Minnesota companies recruiting Target workers who lost their jobs amid the retailer’s most recent round of layoffs.
