Transition has been the watchword at CSC, as the IT market has slowed and there have been several changes at a corporate level lately.
In the fourth quarter of 2012, the company sold three of its divisions including its Italy unit, Credit Services unit and Australian IT staffing unit. But those aren’t the only issues the company has had to deal with in 2012.
It’s also had to answer to the state of North Carolina, where it won a contract to implement a new Medicaid claims processing system in 2009. Estimated to cost about $287 million, the contract had mushroomed to nearly $500 million last year. Work was supposed to start in August of 2011, but that didn’t happen. CSC had to pay $50 million in cash and in-kindconcessions to the state because of the delays.
But things looked like they were improving for CSC this week, as the company was just awarded a potential $103 million NASA contract for computing and technical services.
At its last annual filing, 98,000 worldwide. In fiscal 2012, the company reported nearly $16 billion in revenue.
