How Do The Plans For Replacing Obamacare Measure Up?
The repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act is one of the most hotly debated items on the Trump administration’s agenda. While some insist there must be a full repeal now, others maintain that there should be no repeal until there is something in place to go into effect immediately upon repeal. While Republicans hash out the best course of action, regarding implementation, they are not without plans. The problem remains with which plan would serve American citizens best....RedState (01/30)

The Impact on HHS of Trump’s Regulatory Reduction Order
Privacy and data security experts are sizing up how an executive order signed by President Trump that requires two regulations to be eliminated for every new regulation issued by an executive branch department or organization might affect the actions of the Department of Health and Human Services. But others say it could hamper efforts to carry out certain actions called...GovInfoSecurity (01/31)

Aetna CEO: We will not expand Obamacare in 2018
Aetna will not expand its involvement in the Obamacare exchanges next year, citing the “unclear nature” of where regulation is headed, the insurer’s CEO, Mark Bertolini, said Tuesday. The carrier had already vastly reduced its participation for 2017. It lost $450 million on its individual market policies last year, $100 million more than it previously projected, the company reported in its earnings conference call Obamacare has not lived up to its goals, Bertolini said. Carriers have collectively lost billions of dollars, forcing them to scale back or exit the market completely....KITV (01/31)

Colorado hits insurance milestone amid big questions

IBM calls healthcare industry a ‘leaky vessel in a stormy sea’
IBM has called the US healthcare industry a “leaky vessel in a stormy sea” with an increase in insider attacks and the use of ransomware risking patient data more than ever before.
