The adoption of digital technologies is set to transform sectors like education and health in the coming days, said Arvind Gupta, head and co-founder of Digital India Foundation, a policy think tank, said while participating in the ‘CXO Cyience Series’ on ‘Digitally Atmanirbhar Bharat’ held by city-based Cyient Ltd on Friday.
“In the coming days, we foresee a health stack on the lines of India stack. We can also see an education stack. We need more schools and hospitals and while they are being built, a part of the gap can be filled by tele-medicine and online education and NEP allows for that…” Gupta said, adding that the rollout of Ayushman Bharat has already enabled the rollout of National Health Stack in the country.
Citing the example of the United Payments Interface (UPI), on which several new payments apps and businesses have been built, Gupta said India is now solving global problems and these solutions are being adopted by the world over to benefit a larger number of people. He also lauded the role of startups in boosting economic growth as well as giving shape to the idea of ‘Digital India’.
Karthikeyan Natarajan, president and COO, Cyient, said that the need of the hour is to facilitate reforms for ease of doing business and have in place an effective monitoring mechanism for schemes that have been implemented for better outcomes.
