ETHealthworld.com, an initiative of The Economic Times, organised ETHealthworld.com HealthTech Summit 2020 on 13 March 2020. The event brought together key stakeholders from the private healthcare segment under one roof to discuss the new-age digital disruptions, which can be integrated with existing healthcare infrastructure. The event was supported by DayToDay Health, the presenting partner; Fujifilm, the medical partner and powered by Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital.
The summit revolved around the theme ‘Digital Health – A New Paradigm of Connected Care’. At the event, the industry thought leaders and experts explored the potential of digital health and how it is set to transform the healthcare landscape. They also ideated strategies on how digital health technologies and tools can become a catalyst to bridge the healthcare divide between the haves and the have-nots.
Sidharth Nath Singh, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, MSME & Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh, began the summit by addressing the delegates and speaking about the challenges pertaining to the Indian healthcare sector and how frequently it is subject to change. “Demand in healthcare will always remain, but the supply chain seems to be a major challenge,” he said.
Recognising digitalisation as an important facet in the healthcare industry, he shared how UP has taken a leap in the healthcare sector by adopting digitalisation and bringing a PPP in Tier-II cities. He explained how the UP healthcare sector is adopting disruptive technologies, “To cope with the shortage of radiologists available in hospitals, teleradiology has come to great help. We have 500 centres of teleradiology today in UP,” Singh added.

He also acknowledged the benefits of AI in radiology imaging. “We have seen advancements in mammography. It is also helping in the streaming of diagnosis. There’s a pocket in the eastern part of India where people are doing pilot projects on malaria detection,” he shared.
