The Indian government offers a number health insurance schemes, split by income group or occupation. But it appears the health insurance system is so fragmented, it’s making healthcare more expensive and less effective, according to a report by Niti Aayog, which says large-scale reforms may be needed to ensure Indians have easy access to affordable care.
