Major Industries Unite for Safety Awareness
The Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium in Hyderabad transformed into a hub of safety consciousness on Monday as approximately 800 factory managers, employees, and workers gathered from across Telangana. The occasion marked the ‘World Day for Safety and Health at Work,’ an international observance dedicated to preventing occupational accidents and diseases globally.
The Department of Factories, Government of Telangana, collaborated with the National Safety Council’s Telangana Chapter to organize this significant event. The atmosphere blended serious purpose with engaging presentations, creating an effective platform for safety education.
Creative Safety Demonstrations Take Center Stage
Workers from leading industrial organizations delivered impactful safety messages through creative performances. Employees from Singareni Collieries, Natco Pharma, Apitoria Limited, BHEL, and Toshiba Transmission and Distribution Systems showcased their commitment to workplace safety through various artistic expressions.
These companies presented skits, songs, and theatrical plays centered on crucial workplace safety themes. The performances highlighted common hazards, prevention strategies, and the importance of following safety protocols in industrial settings.
Leadership Emphasizes Safety Culture
B. Rajagopala Rao, Director of Factories and Chairman of the National Safety Council’s Telangana Chapter, presided over the function. In his address, he emphasized that valuing human life must form the backbone of industrial culture throughout the region.
“Awareness of workplace risks is non-negotiable if accidents are to be avoided,” Rao stated, underscoring the fundamental importance of safety education. He further highlighted the ongoing efforts of both the Department and Council in conducting regular training sessions across factories statewide to reinforce safety and health basics.
Embracing Technology for Enhanced Safety
Y. Mohan Babu, Joint Chief Inspector of Factories, delivered a forward-thinking message to attendees. He urged factory managements to leverage Artificial Intelligence technologies to identify potential hazards before they develop into serious incidents.
“If machines are getting smarter, so should safety strategies,” Babu remarked, pointing to the potential of modern technology in revolutionizing workplace safety approaches.

The event saw participation from numerous industry leaders, demonstrating the widespread commitment to workplace safety across Telangana’s industrial sector. Notable attendees included:
