Starbucks Corp. faces negligent infliction of emotional distress claims by pest control contractors who allege pesticide exposures at the company’s Manhattan stores after the Southern District of New York found the company may have breached a duty of care.
Contractors Paul D’ Auria and Jill Shwiner may proceed with their claims because they have shown a possibility that Starbucks had a duty to correct allegedly hazardous pesticide use, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
