Kaiser Permanente members now have online access to their doctors’ notes for outpatient appointments.
A new website tool called “My Health Manager,” which launched Monday, allows patients to view their doctors’ assessments or diagnoses, as well as any recommended treatment plans, additional tests, studies, follow-up appointments or specialist referrals. Members registered at KP.org will be notified by email to view the information.
The tool is intended to help patients better remember and understand their health to take more control of their care.
“My Health Manager” is part of a nationwide initiative called OpenNotes, which urges more health care transparency. Legacy Health, Oregon Health & Sciences University and the Portland VA Medical Center are other Pacific Northwest health organizations participating.
